When the sun is out water is pumped through the panels and heated. The warmer water is then returned to your pool. The system is monitored by a control panel so no action is required on your part. It's completely automatic. Another neat feature of the system is "cool down" mode. If your pool is too hot in the summer, the controller can be set to pump water through the panels at night where the ambient air temperature cools water and returns it to your pool.
