Taco(pronounced tay-co) pumps

 

Recirculating pumps are the only moving parts of a solar water heating system. We only use the best equipment available to ensure long life of the system. Taco has been in business for over 90 years and they produce 80% of the recirculating pumps in the U.S.. The pumps are self lubricting, and can be expected to last well over 10 years. The power usage of the pumps is quite small, the models we use generally draw power at the same rate as a light bulb. By comparison the electric element of a water heater uses the equivalent of 90 50-watt light bulbs.

 

 

If a pump fails after the warranty period, it is normally just a matter of replacing the inexpensive pump cartridge.(bottom right in the picture)
